One side, modern and masculine. The other side, classic and feminine. This dreamy dressing room has it all. Not to mention a most covetable wardrobe! It’s from the set of Sex And The City 2 and it’s a lovely evolution of the first ‘really big closet’ featured in the first movie. Obviously, Carrie and Big have had equal say… even though Carrie’s wardrobe seems to be spilling over to ‘his’ side!
Ok… I know it’s not a real place, but I think I’d be quite happy here. Even if it meant it came with a full movie making camera crew. ;)

Nevermind the treasures inside this beautiful home (i.e. Christian Liagre lighting, Jacques Adnet furnishings, Hermes, and Waterworks bathroom fixtures – see them all here)… I’m wanting Courteney Cox‘s outdoor spaces! Steel and teak pergolas, lava-rock fire pits, ipe wood decking and a saltwater pool (looking out to the Pacific Ocean)!
Sigh… and I thought I was jealous of her Friend, Ms. Aniston!

Now that’s what I call a balcony!
Jennifer Aniston describes walking through the front doors of this house for the first time and knowing she was home, wanting a zen-like retreat with some drama thrown in for entertaining. But for me, I’d be so happy sitting on this terrace, under one of those umbrellas, sipping on some chilled Tazo Zen Tea, listening to the birds tweet, watching the ocean breeze travel through the greenery that makes up my back yard, chanting ohhhhms till the cows, er… eastern grey squirrels, come home.
Sigh… I’m sure her friends like it too. ;)

Having been built in 1890, it’s only natural for this Brooklyn home to have a ‘parlour’ floor. A sitting room in a private residence – charming, indeed. And, there’s that original wood closet (yes… closets looked like that back then), cleverly transformed to house the new, stainless steel stove and european-sized fridge in the kitchen.
But that’s pretty much where the ‘bygones’ end. This home is modern and sleek, balanced with pieces of vintage treasure and industrial accents. The highlight: the third floor master bedroom suite complete with a luxurious free-standing tub across from an actual wood burning fireplace. I especially love the floating shelves, built in storage cabinets and recessed wall niche – room for storage and display of the homeowners quirky collection. And have you noticed? There’s a another fireplace on that very floor… across from the bed!
Sigh… some homes have all the luck!

I can’t seem to get past that first shot!! What a view! So beautiful. So striking. I’m sooooo jealous. :)
Although, there’s lots to ooh and ahh over in this Parisian apartment – namely that herringbone wood floor! It follows the star shaped footprint of the apartment. Or what about those onyx sliding panels in front of the windows? All glowy and translucent. And then there’s the glass wine fridge in the kitchen! Wowza!
Aside from the lovely views, this apartment oozes sophistication and warmth… a nice change for a modern interior, don’t you think?

Seriously obsessed over this Stockholm interior! It has all the things that dreams are made of (or at least my own home interior dreams).
- beautifully detailed crown mouldings and extra high baseboards (I love thee to the depth and breadth and height…ha!)
- large windows, high ceilings and spacious rooms (the trifecta of dreamy interiors)
- striking wallpaper (this is what inspired my Elizabeth Barrett Browning poem angle… so very Victorian)
- sleek, modern kitchen
- sleek, modern bedroom armoire (love its weightiness in the room)
- and my most favourite obsession right this very minute… billowy, soft sheers… so light and airy… just like a dream!
Sigh… Any of this make for dreamy obsessions on your part?

Beautiful white interiors… I love how clean and simple these spaces are. I think I need to start a category for ‘simple’ because I seem to use the word in almost every one of my posts. For me… simplicity is the hardest thing to come by (in life and in design). And when it’s done well… it’s amazing.
- natural wood grain
- white washed wood grain
- sleek white millwork
- inconspicuous hardware
- midcentury modern icons
- wooden lids on porcelain containers
NORM Architects masters architecture, interiors and industrial design. And all of it is dreamy in my opinion. This is a small selection of their portfolio of work. The Danish design firm excels at making spaces that are full of airiness, naturalness and simplicity. Unpretentious simplicity. Have I said ‘amazing’ yet?
