Ooh, can I live here? Carrie Bradshaw

December 6, 2012 § 1 Comment

One side, modern and masculine. The other side, classic and feminine. This dreamy dressing room has it all. Not to mention a most covetable wardrobe! It’s from the set of Sex And The City 2 and it’s a lovely evolution of the first ‘really big closet’ featured in the first movie. Obviously, Carrie and Big have had equal say… even though Carrie’s wardrobe seems to be spilling over to ‘his’ side!

Ok… I know it’s not a real place, but I think I’d be quite happy here. Even if it meant it came with a full movie making camera crew. ;)

Wanting: Wooden Spectacles

November 2, 2012 § Leave a comment

Light and finely crafted (best looking plywood I’ve ever seen), these wooden pieces are more than just eyewear. They are ‘spectacles’!

I spottedĀ them while shopping in and around the famed Viktualienmarkt in Munich. For more colours, shapes and wood species… click here. I’m partial to these, Terra Mata in Nut, but might be persuaded towards the Wenge finish too! Decisions, decisions…

And if you’re wanting even more of this look…check out this earlier post on wooden timepieces, er, watches!

Wanting: Stella & Dot

I’m wanting this!

Loving the mix of coral, orange, pink and gold. So yummy.

Lots more if you head to Stella & Dot.

Wanting: Scotch Naturals

October 3, 2012 § 4 Comments

Autumn is here!

That means all those neon and/or pastel nail colours need to be retired. These are my picks from Scotch Naturals:

  • Stone Fence
  • Kilt Lifter
  • Flying Scotsman
  • Seething Jealousy

Ok… I confess. It’s not just about these colours. I’m loving everything else about this nail polish:

  • Paraben Free
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Biodegradable
  • Toxin and Fragrance Free
  • Cruelty Free…. and the list goes on!

Inspired: Alison Van Pelt

Pink and Orange Frida –Ā Alison Van Pelt

Light Grey Nude – Alison Van Pelt

William Burroughs – Alison Van Pelt

After spotting this artist’s work in this interior, I couldn’t help but look into more of her work.

Alison Van Pelt’s works are BIG (i.e. 9 feet x 7 feet!!!). I love the scale of these paintings. And even though the images are purposely softened and blurred, it’s the bold colour and sheer size of the pieces that make an impact. And the portraits themselves are mesmerizing, transfixing. Wish I had a wall big enough…!

Wanting: Wood Watch

June 27, 2012 § 8 Comments

Reinventing the wheel… in watches.

AB Aeterno has introduced a new line of arm candy made out of wood. Reed sandalwood to be exact. There’s a warmth to the timepiece that I like. Warm to the touch as well.

I think I want it. How about you?
