Roaming: The High Line in NYC

February 29, 2012 § 2 Comments

Imagine a train on its track flying through the air. Winding. Clanking. Rattling. Slinking through urban rough patches.

Now imagine the train is gone. What’s left behind is a steel track, elevated above the eastern streets of Manhattan. Just above the hustle. Outside earshot of traffic. A new, winding, pedestrian, urbane garden. Installation art mixed with lawn greens, interspersed with intimate views into, at times, extremely close, residential windows.

I can’t believe how much I loved it.

It’s The High Line and a ‘must visit’ attraction next time you visit New York City.  (All photos by designchickee)
